When Alaska Airlines was first established in 1932 as McGee Airways, it operated flights out of Anchorage. Alaska Airlines, one of the most well-known airlines on the West Coast of the United States, is currently the fifth-largest airline in the country by passenger volume. Its headquarters are in the Seattle metropolitan area of the State of Washington.
