Palia, a new MMORPG with a focus on a cozy and carefree experience, has revealed its beta plans. Inspired by games like Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley, Palia offers a large world for exploration, akin to recent entries in The Legend of Zelda series.

Developed by Singularity 6 in Los Angeles, Palia aims to provide an open world filled with activities like crafting, farming, and gathering resources. Players will interact with interesting villagers and their real-life friends in this immersive world. Upon its initial announcement in 2021, popular streamer Asmongold praised Palia for its fresh ideas but noted that the absence of combat might deter some players.

The closed beta for Palia has already begun, with access granted to gamers who previously applied on the official website and received email invitations. The open beta phase will commence on August 10, allowing everyone to join in on the magical world of Palia.

Palia's gameplay revolves around social interactions and crafting, as players continuously gather resources to build tools and objects, including houses. The game introduces mechanics reminiscent of Zelda, such as mountain climbing and glider exploration, adding verticality to the experience.

While the closed beta has captured the attention of over 600,000 players, Palia faces stiff competition in the MMO and simulation game market.
