Aeroflot is the Russian airline that is generally known as Aeroflot. It is the flag carrier and remains the largest airline in the country.
Aeroflot is the oldest known airline in the world, having been founded in 1923. Aeroflot's headquarters is located in the Central Administrative Okrug, Moscow.
The airline controlled about 40% of the airline market in Russia itself. In addition, Aeroflot owns the lowest-cost carrier Rossiya Airlines based in St. Petersburg, Pobeda, and also nearly 51% of Aurora Airlines located in the Russian Far East.
Aeroflot Alliance Airlines and codeshare programs
The airline became a member of SkyTeam in April 2006 and was the first airline from the Soviet Union to participate. However, Aeroflot was unable to meet the alliance's standards, but Skyteam saw possibilities in its huge hub networks. Aeroflot Cargo, a subsidiary of Aeroflot, was reintegrated into the parent company, controlled by Skyteam Cargo.
Aeroflot has both wide-body and narrow-body aircraft in its fleet size. The airline has seven families and they are the Airbus A320, the Airbus A321, the Airbus A330, the Airbus A350 XWB, the Boeing 777, the Boeing 737 and the Sukhoi Superjet 100. There are 246 passenger-carrying aircraft in its fleet size a May 2020.

The Aeroflot airline serves 146 destinations in 52 different countries. Domestic destinations are Moscow, Nalchik, Novokuznetsk, Saint Petersburg, Omsk, Orenburg and many more. In addition, the airlines have international destinations to Austria, China, France, Germany, India, Japan and many more.
Aeroflot airline has its main hub airport at Moscow Sheremetyevo International Airport. It is the busiest airport and receives an annual traffic of 45 million passengers each year.
