A new NETGEAR router's factory default configuration, including the default Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and Password, is applied when the user first sets it up. The router has a sticker on it with the default settings. The steps to change Netgear password are as follows:
Launch a web browser from a device connected to the router's network.
Enter www.routerlogin.net.
Give the username and Password.
Next, select Administration to Set Password from the Advanced section.
In addition to the current Password, type the new one three times.
To allow password recovery going forward, select Enable Password Recovery.
