In some cases, a transaction is refused due to a lack of funds. Make sure you have enough money in your account to finish the purchase.

An authorization hold on your account may appear after you sign up for a free trial. This hold is in place to guarantee that your payment method is valid, and it will be lifted and repaid by your bank after a short period of time. If you don't have the hold amount in your account, however, your sign-up may fail.

Your card may have limitations that prevent you from making a payment. Inquire about the transaction with the bank or firm that issued your card to see if they are aware of the cause for the decline.

If you're not in the United States, make sure your card and bank can handle foreign transactions. You may also need to contact your bank to allow the usage of your card for online transactions, depending on your country.

Try to pay with a different payment method

If the initial payment method you tried failed, you can try a different one. Return to the purchasing screen and add or change a payment method.

If a payment option is greyed out while making a purchase on YouTube, that payment method isn't valid for that purchase. To finish your transaction, use a different payment method.
