Support is provided to the kid during check-in and boarding by the Volaris Unaccompanied Minor Service. After the aircraft is in the air, any special needs of a kid are catered to. At the final destination, the child is guided through the immigration and baggage claim processes until they are safely handed over to the person who will be picking them up.
What are the rules and restrictions for Unaccompanied Minor Service?
This service is required for passengers between the ages of 5 and 11. Passengers between the ages of 12 and 18 have the option of travelling alone or with an adult.
Minors between the ages of 2 and 4 must be accompanied by another minor between the ages of 12 and 17, who will be accountable for the child, when using this service. In this case, both minors will travel using this service.
The minor must be accompanied by the adult who is in charge of them at the counter at the airport of origin or of destination.
The adult at the departure airport is in charge of telling the Volaris staff who will be picking up the youngster at the destination airport.
The person responsible for the minor must check with the immigration department of the country of origin or destination to see whether there are any prerequisites or permissions for the minor's entry and leave.
Is this service accessible on all flights?
This service is provided by all local and foreign airlines, however only ten (10) unaccompanied minors are permitted on each flight.
